There was some ridiculousness at work today. I was touched by how many Oppo's thought of me when things were going south.

Luckily Kevin Vickers (Parliament's Sergeant at Arms) & resident badass was there to stop this nutcase in his tracks and shot him.

I think the first gun shot is a shot gun.

Before this happened, this coward shot a ceremonial guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier at point blank range.

RIP Nathan Cirillo. We will not forget you.

Only a coward shoots an unarmed soldier.

When I walked into lunch today both CNN and Fox had this as breaking news and I pretty much thought about you not even knowing how close to this you were.
And to the second point, even though he didn't serve for my country I respect his service to our neighbors to the North and that's not how it's supposed be.

I am fine indeed. I think all our Ottawa Oppo's avoided trouble today. I know aluminumfoil, zipppy, mr go fast, and Buford T justice are doing well. I didn't hear from youshiftem or 153624 but I know 153624 is too young to be a cop so he's probably fine somewhere and I know youshiftem works at the uni so he's probably doing well.

That's good. I feel very partial to Canada being one very important nation to us, whenever someone says Canada's useless I need to use a lot of my self control not to call them an idiot. But glad that everyone's safe.

A family friend took a photo with Cirillo just this weekend. This is just sad. That shooter was a coward.

It has come to my attention that today was an eventful day, although extremely unfortunate. If fear is something assailants are willing to stir in our population, they are not getting it from me. Stay strong, fellow Canadians, join me, and do not fear these people, we have a lot more things to worry about. Terrorism is not one of them.

I agree. If they think this nonsense will stop us from having a free and open society or bombing ISIS they are out to lunch. We are very strong together, just look at how ordinary civilians rushed to Nathans' aid even while this lunatic was still on the loose.

This will bind us together not tear us apart.

Holy crap. I haven't had the opportunity yet to get to know everyone here, but...damn. I'm glad you're ok, this has been all over the place on the news here. Such a shame though, such a damn waste.
